What if they don't like me?
I think this is the #1 underlying fear we all have when we put ourselves out there in any way - from what our branding looks like to launching a website to our social media presence.
This fear that someone will think you fall short in some way.
But here's the thing...and it is so freeing once you are on board:
Not everyone will like you.
That took me a long time to finally be okay with 😆
I am a people pleaser through and through. I am a perfectionist. I want to make people happy. So when they aren't it feels like a direct hit.
This year I decided on a new goal, one that I hope will be a recurring theme in life: "Be unapologetically you."
Ironically, this is a fantastic mantra for marketing. You simply cannot be everything to everybody. You have to find your people. Not everyone will love you. Not everyone will buy from you. And that is great!
There are plenty of people who DO like you - who want what you are offering, who like your vibe, who appreciate your efforts. While it is so easy to get caught up in a few negative comments, remember that it isn't the majority. Those comments are the outliers.
Don't let the few negatives deter you from being unapologetically you. Because that is what makes you stand out - what makes you unique! In your branding, in your voice, in your offering.
And let's get real...those people who can be so cruel and mean online are likely just wanting to make someone feel as bad as they do.
It isn't personal 💛
You're doing great! Keep putting yourself out there and find your people!
