Happy Spring Reader!

Spring always feels like a great time to do a refresh and marketing is no different. But where the heck do we put our money?!

That seems to be one of the biggest challenges we face as small business owners...knowing where to spend our money - I mean, no one wants to throw it at tactics that don't work!

The trick to advertising with a limited budget is to be smart. We don't have the luxury of throwing darts at a wall to test strategy and spend boatloads of time and money figuring out what actually sticks.

So what do you do?

Easy. You get specific. You narrow your focus.

Let me show you how!

Quick and easy ways to move your marketing forward this week

Make Your Money Work Harder With A Meta Ad

Digital ads are a fantastic way to get in front of new customers while maximizing your budget. And Meta ads are the easiest entry point to digital advertising.

Here's why I am such an advocate for Meta ads:

  1. You can get really specific with your audience so you don't waste your money on anyone who isn't in your target market.
  2. They give you objective data so you can see what works almost instantly.
  3. Even a $1 per day budget can produce extraordinary results.

In fact, I actually advocate for a steady, low daily budget campaign vs. a short-lived big spend because...

✅ The Meta algorithm learns better with consistent spend than a short, high-budget campaign.

✅ A low-budget ad gives you time to test and tweak instead of wasting money upfront.

✅ People need to see your business multiple times before they buy—a slow, steady ad builds trust.

So this week, I am challenging you to run a Meta ad!

Here's the framework to maximize your impact:

  1. Target your local area + ideal customer interests. Set a geographic radius that fits where your customers will be and pick a few interests and behaviors as you set your audience.
  2. Run it for at least 30 days and watch what happens.
  3. Adjust only AFTER you see what’s working.

Marketing isn’t about spending big—it’s about spending smart.

This week in life...

It's Vacation Time 🙌

This week I am on vacation 🙌 As much as I love the four seasons and yes, even all of the snow, I hit a tipping point every March where I just need to walk on some green grass.

We're in southern Utah near St. George and I am relishing the 80-degree weather (even if I feel like I am melting coming from 30 degrees in Idaho!).

This vacation is a big step for me. I STRUGGLE taking time off - and I am admittedly horrible at relaxing. I like to have schedules and plans and my family usually humors me as I develop daily itineraries even when we are supposed to be "vacationing." But not this time.

My goal...go with the flow (gulp). I didn't even Google "things to do near St. George" before we left - terrifying!

Wish me luck - and if anyone has any tips for turning off your business brain to make the most of some reset and recharge time, I am all ears 😆

Wishing you all a lovely start to spring!

That's all for this week 💛

Well, it’s officially here. School’s out. My husband and kids are officially on break. But guess who’s still working? Oh yeah, that’d be this girl. It’s not that I begrudge them their summer break (but kinda). It’s just... I love summer. Like really love summer. Josephine Lake - one of my favorites! And trying to crank out work while the people around me are off mountain biking, swimming at the beach, hiking, grabbing ice cream, or (perhaps the worst) laying around watching a mid-day movie?...
