Reader, what's your favorite recipe?

I honestly love cooking. My latest obsession is pizza (damn Costco for having such a good holiday deal on a pizza oven!).

And while I generally know how to make pizza, I definitely don't keep the measurements for all the pizza dough ingredients in my head. I have a recipe for that.

Same with social media! My recipe in this case is a content matrix. Similar to a tried and true recipe, my matrix keeps all of my ingredients lined out so I mix in the right amount and don't overdo any particular one. And like a good recipe, I continue to test and refine my matrix as I learn more and evolve on social platforms.

What I love about my content matrix (and recipes) is that they save me a lot of brain power. No guessing. No uncertainty. Just an easy-to-follow list of ingredients so I always have a structure to follow.

No more scrambling for ideas.

No more random, inconsistent posts.

Just a simple framework that makes posting feel effortless.

Quick and easy ways to move your marketing forward this week

Set Your Socials Up for Success

The single easiest way to keep posting sustainable is to find your posting rhythm, a framework for your content so that you have a guide. We want to set up a clear path to follow so you aren’t just posting randomly and hoping something will stick.

So what does that structure look like? Let's talk about the pieces of a content matrix:

✅ First, choose your content categories

This could be content buckets like “product features, behind-the-scenes, informational, etc.” OR it could be part of a sales funnel like “attraction/growth, nurture, sales.”

✅ Second, designate a frequency

Once you have your content categories, decide on a frequency you want to post. Keep it reasonable! If 5 times a week is not something you can maintain, don’t start there. Start with 2 and build from there if you feel comfortable.

✅ Finally, batch your content

I like to set aside my Wednesday mornings for content creation. But I don’t do it one post at a time. Find ways to cut your time down. Maybe you know that any time you get a new product in (or menu item or whatever it may be) that you take a few photos and video of that. Now you have that in your bank. Batching content is all about helping your brain not have to switch gears so often. I break mine out into sessions of ideation, visuals, captions, and scheduling.

This week in marketing...

Give me an hour...

For more than 15 years, I’ve helped small businesses navigate the world of social media and I am happy to say that I have found a few fantastic ways to streamline the entire endeavor...the content matrix being at the forefront.

And I want to help you build yours at an in-person workshop on April 24th!

If you are in the McCall area, join me for an evening of social media strategy. At this workshop we are going to walk through how to create a content matrix unique to your business.

Plus, you get access to our full Social Media Starter Kit when you reserve your seat at the workshop.

We will be meeting at the CUB in McCall. Tickets are $30 and space is limited!

Well, it’s officially here. School’s out. My husband and kids are officially on break. But guess who’s still working? Oh yeah, that’d be this girl. It’s not that I begrudge them their summer break (but kinda). It’s just... I love summer. Like really love summer. Josephine Lake - one of my favorites! And trying to crank out work while the people around me are off mountain biking, swimming at the beach, hiking, grabbing ice cream, or (perhaps the worst) laying around watching a mid-day movie?...
